Mrs. Sherry Thomas, age 71, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2026.

Sherry was born in Montgomery, Alabama, on August 6, 1954, the daughter of the late Bobby Taylor and Jean Grant Taylor. She spent the greater part of her life in Marietta, Georgia, before making her home in Rockmart in 2017. Sherry devoted many years to her family as a homemaker and later worked as a medical assistant. A woman of the Baptist faith, she found joy in fishing, traveling to the beach, spending time outdoors, and listening to music and dancing. She also enjoyed watching reality television. Above all, Sherry treasured time with her family, especially during the holidays, creating memories that will be cherished by those who loved her.

In addition to her parents, Sherry was preceded in death by a brother, Ricky Taylor.

Sherry is survived by her loving husband, David Thomas; four children, Dave Thomas (Kelly), Robert Thomas (Angel), Shannon McArthur (Jonathan), and Brittany Jones (Wesley); siblings, Cindy McDaniel (Cary), Herb Taylor (Stacie), Norm Taylor (Vanessa), Sharon Painter, Debbie Hall, and Greg Carr. Ten grandchildren and three great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Sherry will be held on Wednesday afternoon, April 29, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Freddie Thomas officiating.

Sherry’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.
