Tony Coats

Mr. Tony Coats, age 76, of Cedartown, GA passed away Wednesday, February 22, 2023 in a Rome nursing center following a lengthy illness.

He was born in Rome, GA on March 1, 1946 a son of the Charles E. Coats and the late Wilma Norris Coats. Tony grew up in the Vinson Mountain community. In 1969 he moved to Cedartown where he was a member of the Cedartown First Baptist Church. He retired as a Division Manager with McKesson Pharmaceutical Company. Tony was a member of Rockmart Lodge # 97 F. & A.M., the Scottish Rite, the Slate City Shrine Club and the Low 12 Club.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Alene Coats.

Survivors include his wife, Brenda Diane Coats to whom he was married on September 4, 1964; three children: Latesha Stokes (Eddie), Kimberly Massey (Danny) and Kerry Coats (Deborah); sister, Elaine Austin; seven grandchildren; seven great grandchildren and a niece and a nephew.

Graveside services will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 at 4:30 pm in the County Line Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Wayne Benefield officiating.
