Mr. William Alfred Hulsey, age 89 of Rockmart, GA passed away Friday, May 8, 2026 at home.

He was born on October 13, 1936 a son of the late Horace Julius Hulsey and the late Annie Portwood Hulsey. He was a member and deacon of Friendship Baptist Church and a member and past Excellent High Priest of the Rockmart Royal Arch Lodge and a member of Rockmart Lodge No.97 F&AM for 64 years. He was a former employee of Armalite and enjoyed hunting and trapping, gardening and running his saw mill in retirement. 

Mr. Hulsey was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Janice Marks Hulsey; an infant son, Timothy Lamar Hulsey; four brothers, Calvin Hulsey, Bobby Hulsey, Hubert Hulsey, and Harlin Hulsey; and one sister, Ilan Craton.

Survivors include his daughter, Donna (Jamie) Elrod of Rockmart; grandsons, Matt (Amberly) Elrod of Rockmart and Drew (Abby) Elrod of Macon; great-granddaughters, Emme Grace and Elee Ana Elrod of Rockmart, and Mary Elizabeth and Caroline Elrod of Macon; brother, Horace Hulsey; sisters, Evelyn Hulsey and Arnette Parham; as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 10th, 2026 at 4:00 pm in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Tim Deems and Rev. Adam Elrod officiating. Interment will follow in the Friendship Baptist Church Cemetery with Masonic Graveside Rites provided by West Georgia Masonic Memorial Club. 

Pallbearers will include: Matt Elrod, Drew Elrod, Eric Craton, Perry Hulsey, Eric Elrod, and Wade Stringer. Honorary Pallbearers are Loran Hulsey, Max Barber, Marty Meeks and J.C. Thomas. 

The family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 pm until the funeral hour and at other hours may be contacted at the residence of Donna and Jamie Elrod, 705 Pleasant Hill Road, Rockmart.
