William Randy "Hawkeye" Barnette

Mr. William Randy "Hawkeye" Barnette, age 66, of Aragon, GA passed away Tuesday, July 1, 2014 in a Rome medical center.

A native of Polk County, he was born April 21, 1948 a son of the late Herbert Clay Barnette and Annie Mae Childers Barnette. Mr. Barnette was of the Baptist faith, loved to fish was an avid trader. He was a heavy equipment operator. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Shirley Duke and two brothers: Dean Barnette and Ricky Barnette.

Survivors include Connie Barnette, Rockmart; Raeann Morgan and husband Chet, Cedartown; two sons: Randy Keith Barnette and wife Michelle, Carrollton and Richard Clay Barnette and wife Barbie, Rockmart; two brothers: Preston Barnette and wife Jeanette, Dallas and Clyde Barnette and wife Melinda, Taylorsville; three sisters: Joyce Cagle, Cartersville, Wanda Gentry and husband Gilbert, Taylorsville and Sybil Roberson and husband Danny, Taylorsville; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren also survive.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, July 6, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. in the chapel of the Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Calvin Brown officiating.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 2:00 p.m. until the memorial hour at the funeral home.
