Wilma Jean Beck

Mrs. Wilma Jean Beck, age 88, of Rockmart, GA, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2023.

Mrs. Beck was born in Taylorsville, GA, on July 19, 1935, a daughter of the late William Jesse Brewer and Katie Shepherd Brewer. She had lived the greater part of her life in Rockmart and was a 1953 graduate of Rockmart High School. Mrs. Beck worked with King Animal Hospital for a number of years until her retirement. She was a member of Piedmont Avenue Baptist Church and enjoyed fellowshipping there as well as reading her Bible. Mrs. Beck loved working crossword puzzles, reading, and watching game shows. Her favorite time was when she was with her children and grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Beck was preceded in death by her husband, Clifford William Beck, on March 17, 2012, whom she married December 19, 1957. Two sons, William Michael Floyd Beck, and Dwight Clifford “Shep” Beck also preceded her in death.

Mrs. Beck is survived by a son, Robert “Reb” (Rhea) Beck of Rockmart; daughter, Connie Bell of Aragon; grandchildren, Damien Beck, Katlyn Beck, Marlon Morales, Jason Bell, Matthew Bell, Andrew Bell, Stephen Bell, Craig Beck, Dawn Beck, Hannah Newberry, Jessica Blankenship, Michael Shane Beck, Will Beck, Nikki Beck, and William Beck. Numerous great-grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services for Mrs. Beck will be Wednesday afternoon, August 9, 2023, at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Joey Davidson officiating. Interment will follow in Polk Memory Gardens.

Mrs. Beck’s family will receive friends at Alvis Miller & Son Funeral Home Wednesday from 12:00 noon until the service hour.

Pallbearers will include Damien Beck, Marlon Morales, Craig Beck, Michael Shane Beck and Will Beck.
